POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Schedule

Child care is available Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. Part time and full time hours are available with maximum flexibility during hours of operation.

Rates

The rate of pay will be $5.00 per hour full time, and $6.00 per hour part time. (Full time being 36 hours/week or more.) This tuition will be paid at the beginning of every week of the year (or on the first day of your child’s attendance for that week), and will include the provider’s vacation weeks.

The weekly tuition is non-refundable. It also must be paid if the parent(s) chose not to bring their child during the scheduled hours.

The provider reserves the right to refuse care of the child if the weekly payments are not made on time and the voiding of care without notice.

Any changes in hours must be agreed to by both parties.

The fees include lunch (if child is present during lunch period), snacks, drinks, and baby wipes. The parents are responsible for bringing formula, breast milk, diapers, and a change of clean play clothes. If they wish, the parents can bring special items such as a towel, blanket, sippy cup or bottle for their child and special toys. It is the parent’s responsibility to wash cloth diapers(if used), clothes, etc.

The parents agree to not bring their child to the child care home if he/she has a serious contagious illness or fever. The usual fees still apply in this case.

Late pick-up fees

The parents understand that the prompt pick-up of their child is extremely important. If the pick-up is late, Danielle’s Place reserves the right to charge up to the following fees:

Double the usual rate, or if lateness is chronic: First 30 minutes late: $ .50 per minute. All minutes thereafter: $1.00 per minute.

If possible, the parent will call to say they will be late. Late fees for the week will be added to the tuition at the beginning of the following week.

Flexibility

If for any reason the child is absent on a scheduled day, these hours can be ‘made up’ on another day of that week or the following week only. This is provided that there are open time slots available, and the request is agreed to by DP.

Extended Hours

Arrangements can be made for extended hours, if care is needed beyond regular hours of operation. The rate of pay for such hours is 1.5 times the hourly rate. Please speak to provider for details.

Late Arrivals

The child should arrive no later than one-half hour after the scheduled arrival time, so that no planned or outside activities will be disrupted. If the child is more than one-half hour late, and the provider has not been informed of changes in the child’s schedule, it will be assumed that the child will not attend and therefore care will not occur for that day. That day’s regular fee, however, will still apply.

Four Week Notice

Either party may end this agreement by written or verbal notice. The notice must be given a full four weeks before the last scheduled day of care on the last week of attendance.

Evaluation Meetings

Within reason, the parent(s) and provider agree to meet as needed to discuss any matter that is important to either party.

Provider Vacations

A yearly vacation is scheduled for Danielle between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. Day care will commence again on the first Monday of the New Year following January 1st of that year.

Parent’s Vacations

Payments must be made in full for every week of the year, including weeks families take their vacations.

Paid Holidays

On the following holidays, Danielle’s Place will be closed:  New Year’s Day - Friday  Martin Luther King Day (January 17) - Monday  President’s Day (February 21) - Monday  Memorial Day (May 29) - Monday  July 3&4 (July 4 is on Tuesday) - Monday  Labor Day (September 4) - Monday  Columbus Day (October 9) - Monday  Veterans Day (November 10) - Friday  Thanksgiving Day (November 23) – Thursday  The day after Thanksgiving (November 24) - Friday  Christmas Day – (December 25 Monday

If the child usually receives care on the day of the holiday, DP will be paid in full for that day. Holidays not falling on days where the child does not usually receive care, are not paid.

Snow and other Bad Weather Days

If the weather is bad, Danielle’ s Family Day Care will still be open. It is up to the the parent(s) to decide whether or not to bring their child. Regular fees still apply in either case.

Provider Cancellations and Back-up Care

When Danielle’s Place is unable to take care of your child due to emergencies, serious illness, or other serious matters, immediate notice (as is possible) will be given to the parents. For any time missed, the parents will not be charged. The pay for any missed time will be deducted from the payment for the following week.

The parents are responsible for having alternate means of day care in these circumstances. Danielle’s Place will try to assist the parents with this important matter.

Note: the instances in which the provider cancels are extremely rare. Experience has shown that this is necessary only once or twice a year.

Parent’s Right to Visit

The parents have the right to visit the day care home unannounced at any time during the hours that their child is present, although it is understood that it is possible that it might coincide with outdoor activities. Parents acknowledge that the provider is working during scheduled hours and can only have focused conferences at pre-arranged times. Parents also acknowledge that during unannounced visits, their child will be naturally drawn to them and will assist in their child’s care while on the premises. Parents may stay as long as they wish to observe or assist in their child’s care.

Damages

DP agrees to replace or repair items belonging to the parent /child that are left at the request of the provider, and are damaged by the provider due to negligence.

Both the parents and the provider will make efforts to teach children to use the space and contents in the day care home carefully. In case of damages caused therein by the child’s unwieldy behavior, the provider reserves the right to collect the costs of replacement or repair of the item. An example of this would be the throwing of a hard object that breaks something of value not reachable by the child.
