SILLY PUTTY
I myself have used this idea at home and it's great for kneading, punching, mooshing, cutting with scissors or clay tools, and manipulating with cookie cutters. It has a rubbery, slimy texture that kids love! Keep stored in an air-tight container. Warning: Do not get on carpeting or upholstery. Difficult to remove from fabric if left on it too long.
2 cups white glue
1 cup water with food coloring
1 Tbsp Borax dissolved in 1 cup hot water
Pour glue into a mixing bowl. Stir in water with food coloring. Add the hot water with Borax. Mix together with a spoon. Once most of the mixture is solidified, knead with hands. Let the silly putty sit in the bowl for a few minutes until the water is absorbed. Knead some more and have fun stretching, rolling, and cutting!
