Kingston High School
Class of 1978
2008 will be our 30th reunion. Our 25th reunion is barely over, but we already need to be looking ahead to the next reunion.
There are still so many classmates that we need to contact. 30 classmates attended the dinner at Sanfords. That's a lot for our class. Three more attended the activities downtown on Saturday. That's still less than half our class. Everyone needs to make an effort to keep in touch with those that have been found and search out those that haven't. I think everyone had a great time and hope that the next reunion is even better. This is the BIG Year?
Today, on the first day of a new school year at KHS, a new class of SENIORS will swagger in looking as if they owned the world. I can tell you that they're not as confident as they look.
I, a senior, am just beginning to realize what being a SENIOR really means. It means noticing how very smug the new freshman class looks and that the teachers don't seem quite as grand and awe-inspiring as they one did. It's thinking of everything as the last: the last football games, the last class elections, and the last times our class will be together as a group.
Being a SENIOR is like being on a roller coaster that's going too fast. You want to scream, "Slow down! I'm not ready yet!"
SENIORS are scared and confused creatures, but don't expect them to admit it. So when someone charges down the hall using the "SENIOR STRUT" he's been practicing all summer, the Class of 1978 is coming through!
