Segregation Part 2

This was asked of me after last month's article:
"Do you really believe that you have it worse because you are not a minority?"
You missed my point. First of all I was writing on segregation AND equality. My point was that the fight for equality should not encourage segregation. That's like trying to cure cancer by drinking Drano.
But to answer your question I'm not sure whether or not I am better off than those of a minority. What I am sure of is that someone in a minority can find assistance and be heard more than me. There are organizations which exclude me because of race or sex. If you think that I am wrong, then I will apply to the NAACP for a college scholarship and we'll see what happens.

The only reason for a special rights group is to segregate the American people

Another thing I am sure of is that I am in the position that I am in now because of MY choices and MY decisions and MY hard work. Ideals that were instilled in me by my father have kept me working, and when I found myself without a job I went out and found another one (or two). Sometimes I have had to tighten my belt. Sometimes I have made the wrong choices and got into debt. But I am able to work and I have an income. I feed myself and my family. I have a roof over my head.
I have worked among Hispanics, African Americans, American Indians, Asians, Jews, Gay Men, Gay Women, Single Mothers, Single Fathers, Senior Citizens, 16 year old young people, Environmentalists, Rednecks, Yankees, and even a few people who claim to be Witches, Werewolves, and Vampires.
They were American citizens who worked, ate, slept, and defecated in the same city as I. We have all been paid on the same pay scale, had the same Governor, local police enforcement, fast food restaurants, and utility companies.
So what makes any one of them individually different from me?
Individuality! That's it. We have the same problems with day to day life. It is their individual lives that differ from mine. So again my question is "What makes a minority groups' issues more important than mine? Why do they deserve Special Treatment? The only reason for a special rights group is to segregate the American people.
"Don't  they deserve to be heard?"
Sure. But so do I! And so do you!
