What is this controversy is over the Census 2000?...

The Controversy is the same every Census. This year the election has
brought it to into the spotlight. The Census is used to represent a fair
voice across America. The results are not only used to assess polls and
surveys but they are also used to draw the district
lines and make sure that Americans in every state are represented fairly.
If these numbers were correct there would be little to dispute. But many
people are not counted or are counted by estimate. In doing this the numbers
can be stacked in favor for an area that is known to vote a certain way or have
specific needs.
The controversy before the presidential election claimed that the numbers
were stacked in favor of the Democrats. Very little was said about
this in the news. It was easily buried in election campaign stories.
Commerce Secretary Donald L. Evans stated last week that he - not the Census Director - will decide how to tally the Census 2000 numbers. The Democratic party is not pleased. There will be many controversies over the next 4 years especially after this years presidential election. The entire process is under scrutiny. As we see the system taken apart piece by piece we will see a lot of corruption and unfair paths that have been followed for years. This process will help me considerably as I decide my candidates for the next election. Those who don't care enough to fix the problems and fight for fairness need not apply for my vote. Robert
