I lay down and cuddled your back.
For a moment I held you in my arms.
I lay there quietly while you slept,
just thinking of your charms.
I began to massage your back
where you always like it best.
I tried to help you relax
because you certainly needed the rest.

While you lay there soundly asleep
Across your face came a smile.
Knowing you were more content,
I just watched you for a while.
All of a sudden you awakened
conscious of my loving stare.
But the look in your eyes told me
that you were glad I was there.

Again a smile came upon your lips,
I could feel the love coming from you.
You grabbed my hand and pulled me closer
And at that moment our love was forever,
that of all things, I knew.
In contentment, you again fell asleep
with your lips formed in a kiss
I lay there holding you close
just watching you while enjoying our bliss.

Suddenly, I too was sleeping
content while holding you tight.
But could this be only a dream?
Could I be imagining this night?
So I tried to refuse to wake up;
I tried to not let the night end.
For without you loving me,
