Nitro started off with a great video of Booker T, his life, and the months leading up to his World Title win last night. The brand-new WCW champion, Booker T, made his way to the ring. The crowd erupted in a chant of Booker T. Book took the mic and said he had one regret in his world title win, and that was that his Mother was not alive to see it. Booker continued this emotional interview by thanking his fans for supporting him for the last 8 years. Booker brought up the name of Goldberg, and the fans booed like crazy. Booker T. said Goldberg was a mark for himself and this business. The new WCW champ got security to bring his beautiful wife, Lavestia (SP?), into the ring. The two embraced then Booker's music hit again. Stevie Ray appeared much to the surprise of the new champ and his wife. Stevie said he was proud of his bro' and loved him. Harlem Heat hugged, then Steiner's music hit. Midajah came down to the ring with a mic and said that tonight Scott was going to make Booker his "bitch". From behind Scott hit Stevie in the back with a bat, then assaulted Booker with it as well. Scott threatened Lavestia as we went to a break.

Backstage Booker told Stevie to take his wife home.

Pamela interviewed Jarrett and he said that he wants his rematch tonight with Booker. Pam told him that tonight there was already a match booked with Steiner taking on Booker. Just then Steiner knocked Jarrett down and destroyed the set.

Shane Doglas w/Torrie vs. Crowbar w/Daffney The Franchise came to the ring with Torrie at his side. Torrie said she left Billy because he was too small and that Shane is more of a man then he would ever be.

Crowbar started the match off quickly by taking Douglas down with a clothesline. Shane rolled to the outside and Crowbar followed. Crowbar tried to use a chair but Torrie blocked him. Later on, Torrie grabbed Crowbar's feet and tripped him. Crowbar backdropped him to the outside where he almost hit Torrie. Torrie tried to interfere again but Daffney stopped her. Douglas pulled Daffney away but got slapped in turn. Crowbar hit a moonsault to get a nearfall. The Franchise ended up winning the match when he hit his "Franchiser" move, which is sort of a reverse stunner. Post match, Douglas was attacked by Buff.

In the back Kidman was doing an interview when Jarrett interrupted. Jeff demanded a title shot tonight. Kidman was upset at what he did and a fight broke out.

Smooth the limo driver and Tank got out of a limo. 3-Count followed carrying a gold record and all wearing suits.

3-Count/Jung Dragons confrontation 3-Count and Tank came to the ring with the gold album. They said they were going to hang it up so everyone could see it all night. As Evan was hanging it up The Dragons came and attacked 3-Count. After the cleared 3-Count out of the ring, Abbott came in and punched Yang and Jamizan out. He was going to punch Evan when THE GREAT MUTA sprayed green mist in his face and then kicked him in the face. The Dragons and Muta left the ring as the crowd chanted for Muta.

Outside the arena Goldberg arrived, while inside the arena Kanyon said he was going to make The Cat feel the bang.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Kidman Jarrett got the early advantage with a low blow. Kidman used his quickness to fight back when he hit a dropkick. Kidman hit a running powerbomb to get a very close nearfall. Kidman went to the outside and while Jarrett distracted the ref Torrie came to the ring. Torrie went to slap Kidman but he blocked her. Shane came out next and got punched in the face by Kidman, but while his back was turned Torrie kicked him below the belt. Douglas then DDT'd him on the ground and threw him back in the ring. Jarrett went for the pin but Kidman kicked out. Kidman tried a tornado DDT but Jarrett reversed it into The Stroke to win the match.

In the back The Cat tried to give the US title to Awesome, but Mike said he wanted to earn it.

Mike Awesome vs. Booker T. (World Title Match) Booker showed no respect for Awesome by slapping him in the face. This angered the "Mullet King" Mike Awesome and he went after Booker. Booker hit a nice spin-kick on Awesome, but before he could go for the pin Awesome used his head and rolled out of the ring. The match went to the outside where Awesome actually BROKE a chair over Booker's back. Mike nailed Booker with a huge spinebuster and then a gigantic frog splash. Just when we thought Awesome had the match won...Booker kicked out at 2 and 15/16! Awesome went to the outside and set a table up. Awesome went to powerbomb Booker through it, but Booker back body dropped him to the apron. Then Booker knocked him off the apron and through the table with a back elbow. Booker hit a Harlem Sidekick, and Axe kick, then a missile drop kick but still Awesome kicked out! Finally, Booker hit the, and I quote Tony, "Book End" which is a urinagi suplex to win the match. Steiner came to the ring right as the pin was made and beat up Booker. Awesome saved Booker by knocking Steiner to the outside of the ring.

The Cat interview The Cat called Scott Steiner out to the ring and called him a stupid bitch. Then he tried to beat him up but Steiner destroyed him. Booker T came out to the ring to beat up Steiner and was followed by Jarrett and Kanyon. The Cat made a match tonight with Kanyon vs. Steiner vs. Jarrett and whoever wins gets a title shot at the next PPV. Goldberg came out and said make it a 4-way, so The Cat did.

Norman Smiley & Ralphus vs. Vito (Hardcore Title) Norman came to the ring and challenged Vito to a match for the hardcore title. The fight went to the back where Vito threw Norman on a table and then hit him with some sort of a plastic bin. In the ring Ralphus was hiding behind a table. Vito whipped Norman into the railing and then kicked him in the face. Vito nailed Ralphus with a crutch and then laid a traffic cone on his groin. Vito took a bat and smashed the cone. Vito laid Ralphus on the table and smashed him through it. Then Norman nailed him with a chair and he fell on Ralphus. The ref counted to 3 and Vito retained his title.

The Artist vs. Lance Storm Lance Storm came to the ring and said he doesn't sing, he doesn't dance, he just wrestles. Then he had the Canadian National Anthem played. Lance hit a knee lift and followed it up with a knee to the face. The Artist back body dropped him and turned around quickly to hit a low-blow. Lance hit a missile dropkick to get a nearfall. The Artist retaliated with a samoan drop, but Lance kicked out. Lance rolled The Artist into the crab to win the match.

Vamp pulled up in his hearse, with a casket in the back.

MIA vs. Kronic Corp. Cajun and Rection hit a double DDT on Adams. The fight continued for a while until Rey & Juvi tried to interfere. Jindrak & O' Hare hit the ring and beat up Rey & Juvi. Rection smashed Adams in the corner and went for his elbow drop but missed. Later, Rection hit the moonsault and went for the pin but Clark saved Adams. They hit the High Time on Cajun, knocked Rection to the outside and then finished Cajun off with the Powerbomb/Clothesline move. Palombo and Stasiak came to the ring and beat up Kronic and quickly left.

Sting Returns! Vampiro came to the ring and wheeled a casket to the ring. Demon was seemingly under Vamp's control. Vampiro ordered Demon to beat Asya up. The lights went out and Sting came to the ring. Sting beat up Vamp and The Demon, but had a mask that covered his face, so we don't know for sure whether it was him or not.

Kanyon vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Goldberg vs. Scott Steiner (#1 contender match) This match was very slow to start but finally Steiner and Kanyon went at it. Steiner hit an overhead t-bone suplex on Kanyon, then threw him to the outside. Steiner had the Steiner recliner locked on Kanyon when Goldberg kicked him in the face. Kanyon rolled over to get the pin but Steiner kicked out. Jarrett came in and nailed a nice tilt-a-whirl slam but Steiner kicked out. Kanyon later signaled for the Kanyon-Cutter and hit it but Goldberg tug himself in and speared Kanyon. Then he hit the Jackhammer and had the match won until Steiner made the save. Goldberg and Steiner continued to fight on the outside while Jarrett pinned a lifeless Kanyon.
