What is the Child & Adult Care Food Program?
The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) was created to assist in improving the nutrition of children and infants in child care. The program is administered through The Oklahoma State Department of Education. Provider Solutions of Oklahoma, Inc. sponsors CACFP at the local level, serving counties in Eastern Oklahoma.
How does CACFP help children and Child Care Providers?
*Children and infants receive nutritious meals that meet the CACFP Meal Pattern Requirements.
*Child Care Providers receive valuable meal reimbursement money to help with their meal costs.
*Child Care Providers receive nutrition education and support services to help them teach the children healthy eating habits.
What is required to participate?
*You must be a licensed child care home OR be contracted with a Tribal Child Care Licensing entity.
*Complete an agreement with your sponsor.
*Keep daily records of meals and children served.
*Serve and claim meals that meet the CACFP Meal Pattern Requirements.
*Send your records to your sponsor at the end of each month.
*Attend a CACFP Training provided by your sponsor each year.
All children are served the same meal at no seperate charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there is no discrimination in the course of food sevice.
