At the Lucky Rooster Farm we offer horsemanship lessons to riders young and old, beginners to advanced using our Missouri Fox Trotters.
Lessons are taught from the ground up........herd dynamics, horse behavior, catching a horse in the field, haltering, leading, brushing, cleaning hooves, tacking up (we use western saddles), riding in the ring at first with the expectation of trail riding as soon as we deem the student ready.
We enjoy working with students, children and adults – sharing the knowledge gained in over 30 years of experience working with horses. All lessons are private – avoiding the competitive edge associated with some group programs. You or your child will receive all our attention – it’s a much safer way to learn! There is no minimum number of lessons to buy – we have a very relaxed atmosphere, taking lessons when it fits your schedule.
Lessons are available during the week and on weekends. The fee is $50.00 per session which lasts approximately one hour. Lessons off the farm are $50.00 per hour including travel time to and from your location.

At Lucky Rooster Farm we believe it’s more important to have fun, learn all about horses, and be safe than it is to worry about what you wear. All riders are required to wear helmets (we have many sizes) and a closed shoe with some type of heel.
