We pulled into the drive and I walked around and opened Brandi's door. " Brandi hey we're home…" I said waking her. She just smiled and walked inside. I followed her. I watched as she slowly made her way up the stairs and into our room , I guess you could call it that seeing how we basically live together. I walked into the kitchen and poured myself a glass of water, took a sip then walked up the stairs. As I walked in I saw Brandi under the covers fast asleep. I leaned over , gave her a kiss on the forehead then quickly made my way down the stairs and on my way back to the hospital. As I drove back down the freeway thoughts of what her dad had to say to me when he saw me again started to run through my head. Wonder what he would say…?
I couldn't get to sleep that night so I got up out of bed at 5:00 that morning and had been awake since. I was outside sitting on the table watching the sun rise when Ike came form behind me.
"Good morning.." He said placing a small kiss on the top of my head.
" Hi" I replied. I sat and listened as he ran a shower and got dressed. Thoughts of last nights happenings kept running through my head. I felt so guilty every time Ike would say something to me. I couldn't deal with it if I lost him.
"So what have you got planed to do today?" Ike asked me while eating his bagel.
" I dunno..whatever you want…" I said.
" Well…I thought about running down to the lodge and talking to Jonathan about those surfing lessons.
" Go ahead babe…its our last day here anyways. We'll just meet up for dinner tonight."
" Are you sure?" Ike asked.
" Yeah " I said kissing Ike on his lips as I walked in to the bath room and took another shower. I just couldn't get clean enough. After I got done with that I grabbed a pair of shorts and made my way down to the broad walk. I knew shopping would get things off my mind. It always did. After looking through a few shops and getting a nice little tank top that I knew Lisa would love to have , it was around lunch time. I stopped at 'Ice and Treats' a little fast food type thing, and got my self a coke. I sat awhile ad watched as kids ran up and down the walk on bikes and rollarblades and as happy couples sat around and talked. I finally got up and window shopped until I came across this one store that really caught my eye. I walked and looked around while. I finally came across this one dress that was breath taking. I knew Ike would love it so of course I bought it. I had plans to wear it that night. It was now around 3:30 so I decided to go home and begin to get ready. An hour later…
" Wow…what happened to you?" Ike asked as I came from the dressing room.
" Like it?" I asked with a big smile on my face as I turned in a complete circle so Ike could see.
" Do I ever…" he said as placed a small kiss on my cheek.
" You don't look bad your self" I said as I looked at the neat black clean cut suit he wore.
" Shall we?" He said holding out his hand.
" We shall…" I said taking it and then followed him out the door.
We both treated ourselves to a night full of food, fun and of course our fav, dancing. We sat and talked about how much we were going to miss out little get away together. But I had a feeling he'd miss it more than me. My vacation hadn't gone as well as his. I wanted to get home and put it all behind me. To never look back and to start over again , just me and Ike. No one else. The night was soon over and Ike and I walked back to all room. I think I may have pissed Ike off that night. You see I believe that he wanted to make love that night. You cant really blame him but I couldn't . Not after last night. So I made up a really lame excuse about not really feeling good. But the nest morning he didn't bring it up. He was as sweet as he was the night before. We were soon on a plane and on our way home.
