The Yankees while not as great as the '98 version still have a very powerful lineup, capable of creating runs.  When first considered, the Yankees lineup is most intimidating, but player for player it is not all that much better than the Braves lineup.  Neither team has been hitting particularly well in the postseason, but the Yankees definantly have the advantage.

As surprising as this may seem the Braves may in fact have a better bench than the Yankees.  The Braves bench definantly has a better balance of lefties and righties.

The Yankees are definantly close to being able to match the Braves starters.  But as always the Braves have the edge.

Take your pick of bullpens, once a game gets to the 9th you might as well call it cause both closers are dominating.  The middle relief is where the differences in these pens comes into play and the Braves have the edge there, as middle relief has been a problem for the Yankees all year. Edge: Braves.

Defense:

Both teams are solid defensively.  Knobby has had difficulties throwing to first this year though and that could play a major factor in this series.  Chipper has had problems catching the ball recently, and his defense bears watching.  Edge: Even

The Managers:

Bobby Cox vs. Joe Torre.  Torre won their previous meeting in the '96 series, but which Bobby Cox is going to show up?  The Cox of old or the new "pull out all the stops" Cox that has shown himself this postseason?  Edge: Even

Prediction: Braves in 7.
