All the music that i listen to
where do i begin on this page...first of all, i am addicted
to buying cd's. its a bad habit that i need to learn to control.
i think i have over seventy cd's now. i love just
about all kinds of music, except country. i just cant get
into that junk. too much whinning for me. i guess i could talk about
my all time fave bands. i would have to say that my all time fave
band is pearl jam. they are just an incredible band. i have been a
fan of theirs since my ninth grade year of high school. at last count,
i had around 25 different pj cd's, including albums, singles, imports,
compilations, and side projects.
now my favorite new band is train. they are from san francisco. i love this band, and just cant get enough of them. go check out train's official website here, and go check out val's train website here, and go to my new train website here. they are an awesome band. i listen to their cd at least once a day. i have lost count of how many times i have seen them. if you have never heard of them, then drive on down to your local cd store and demand the cd from them. they listen better when you demand. and if you have heard of them, then tell all of your friends about them, and call your local radio station all the time and request their songs. call so often that the dj's know who you are by the sound of your voice. train rules...
All the music that i play
wellllll....lets see here...i got my first toy guitar when i was like 10 or 11...i dont remember. i was only a little toy thing, but i liked it... i eventually put the guitar down and started chasing girls...i didnt say i caught any of them, but i chased them all over the place...those girls are fast...anyway, back to the li'l story that i was sharing with you. when i was in 9th grade i asked for a guitar for christmas... i remember being at a christmas party that year and one of my dad's friends saying "oh my son went through that, it will last about a month." and i say ha ha ha.... guess who's still playing guitar... i sure showed him...dork. anyway, so i got the guitar and an amp for christmas... it was a Saga Gladiator and the amp was a Gorilla amp...what's that you say... you have never heard of a Saga Gladiator...well neither had i but it had six strings and an input jack. what else could i ask for... the amp had a 10" speaker and power cord, man i was as happy as a kid in a candy store... so i played and i played and i played... i sounded terrible but i kept playing anyway...i got all kinds of books and movies to teach me how to play and they helped me out a lot.... i never took a lesson though...i am thinking of taking lessons now to help me learn to solo better... so i grew my hair out, cut it off, and started wearing flannel shirts to school everyday. eventually, my dad bought me a yamaha acoustic guitar...it is not the best guitar in the world, but it sounds pretty good...i am now looking to buy a fender acoustic/electric...there are a lot of things that i keep saying that i am going to do, and i guess i will if i ever turn off the computer and go back out in to civilization....whew man, its scary out there...i am guessing that my dad just bought me the acoustic because he got tired of telling me to turn down my electric... i did however immediately fall in love with the acoustic sound....i played it all the time and totally neglected my electric. and when i finally came back to play my electric i wanted something more. so i saved my money up all summer and bought a sunburst fender strat at the beginning of my 11th grade year. this is one time that i actually did something instead of talking about it. i felt like jimi hendrix and eric clapton all rolled into one. i said that i felt like them, i didnt play like them....then in my senior year of high school, my bro' and i decided to enter the school's like talent contest....that is a very funny story that i might share with you later on...anyway, so i borrowed my friends peavey amp for the show....by the way, i just recently gave the amp back to him like three years later...so i played on it for a while...it was nice, and had a sweet sound...and then for some strange reason unknown to me, my dad bought me a feder deluxe 112R amp for graduation. that baby kicks some major butt....i has two foot switchable channels and some killer reverb. it has lots of knobs for me to twist, and that i do...so that is what i have been playing on for the past couple of years...
