what? nothing blew up. dang it...
i was hoping that my computer would blow up so that i could get a new one. oh well.
i went to the birmingham meet and greet thing that was set up by the people on the train-discuss list at wing's. i met some people that i had never met before and i saw some people that i knew that i hadnt seen in a while. val was there. always good to see her. brandy was there. im really glad that we got our little conflict solved. mere was there. or as i like to call her, concert girl. cathie and carrie were there. finally gave them back their vcr. and melissa was there. i didnt realize how much i miss her until i saw her again. others there that i met were shane, josh, wendy, krissy (who i found myself to be quite fond of, and asked her sister for her email address so that i could get in touch with her again. more later.), and some others, but i cant think of their names. it was cool. i sat by melissa and drank a lot of water and ate her leftover food. i was feeling depressed for several reasons. there is the obvious like michele and work, but then it was actually seeing melissa and knowing that i royally screwed that one up. it was tough seeing her again. she kept trying to cheer me up. it was so cute. after we ate, we all went outside and took group pictures. i wasnt real thrilled with that one, but i did it anyway. normally, i love having my picture taken, but i just wasnt feeling up to it. then, we decided to make a caravan over to the civic center. well, i lost sight of the group on the interstate. i floored it and caught up with melissa. we all parked right behind each other on the street. we went and sat outside about three hours before they were going to open the doors. obsessed fans? maybe. anyway, we entertained ourselves enough to not be totally bored. we sang and talked about people that we dont like on the list and played with viagra toys and all kinds of fun stuff. well, mere and brandy were going in early with their v.i.p. passes. i decided that i would just wait. so, i gave my pass to val. well, they went in and found out that the general admission tickets were the bad seats and that they reserved seats were the good seats. which is exactly the opposite of what we were told when we bought our tickets. val, being the sweetheart that she is, gave melissa and i her extra pair of reserved tickets so that we could get good seats. we sat in the very front row center stage. it was so awesome. it was my second time to see the push stars, fourth to see vertical horizon, and who knows how many to see train. i wont go into a full review, but i will say this. the push stars are awesome. vertical horizon is pretty good, but i dont really like their on stage banter. and of course, train is just incredible.
i did see mandy there before the show started. she was complaining about having to be on the outside of the barricade. i told her to shut up because she got the tickets for free. her half-sister bridgete was there with her. she's very pretty. vance was supposed to hook up with her awhile back, but i dont think that ever happened.
train played for a while and then with about five minutes until the new year, they took a break. all the X staff came out on stage and started passing out confetti. then, the countdown and the balloon drop and hugs and kisses all around. it was quite nice. then, all the bands came back on stage and did a jam of sweet home alabama. which is something i never thought that i would hear from train, but it was cool.
after the show, while we were waiting on val and mere and brandy to come back from backstage, melissa and i played a fun game with my balloon out in the lobby. she won. then, krissy came over and sat by me and put her head on my shoulder. of course, she was telling me all about how she found the man that she wanted to marry and he was the lead singer of the push stars. i was laughing at her. it was funny. we got tired of waiting so we headed back out to the cars. krissy asked me to carry her to her car. i did for a little while, but she made me put her down before we went down the stairs. then, her and wendy left because they had parked in a different area than us. out of our group of about 15 people, three of us were walking to the cars. it was melissa, shane, and myself. when we got there, josh and his two friends were already there. we just sat around and talked for a while. then, mere and her boyfriend finally came back. then, i decided to write my name all over melissa's car in the condensation. she *loved* me for that. then, brandy and val came back. val told us that she was actually going to get to stay at rob's house when she goes to california next week. i informed her that she owed me big time for letting her use my pass. she agreed. we said our goodbyes and left. it was an awesome evening. one that i will never forget.
with a new year comes new decisions.
i decided yesterday that i am giving up on michele. that's it. im through. a man can only take so much of being put off. im not going to call her or make any other effort to get in touch with her again. if she wants to talk to me, she knows where i am. go me or something.
i also decided that i am going to move this page. rather, i am going to make a full fledge webjournal, instead of just having this as part of my personal webpage. i have actually already started working on it. i just dont know what all i want to have on it. it'll be cool though. i promise.
