    Limerick County Council has revisited and reviewed the route corridor selection for the planned N21 Adare Bypass as a result of changes in Irish national infrastructural policy, along with the recent announcement of the emerging preferred route for the planned M20 Cork-Limerick motorway scheme.

    Following on from the Constraints Study, which was carried out within an area around Adare village in order to identify factors & issues affecting the choice of route, the preferred Emerging Route Corridor Option has now been identified. The Project Team will now prepare a specimen design, undertake statutory procedures (incl. environmental impact statements, compulsory purchase orders and oral hearings) and with the necessary approvals, prepares contract documents, invites tenders & awards the construction contract. The timelines for these phases and for the actual construction phase are to be confirmed in due course. It is anticipated, but not guaranteed, that the construction of the Adare bypass will commence as part of the overall M20 Cork-Limerick motorway scheme.
