Brisebois had quite a hard season in 1996-97 when at one point whenever he touched the puck, the crowd booed. The fans were really frustrated with the Canadiens' defence and so they decided to lash out at Brisebois. They finally stopped picking on him after he was injured.
For Brisebois, injuries are common and he is still waiting to play a full season in the NHL. Drafted in the second-round in 1989 by the Canadiens, he has been with the Habs ever since and took part in the great playoffs run in 1993 which ended up getting him a Stanley Cup ring.
In 1995-96, he recorded nine goals, 36 points and a plus/minus of +10. Brisebois is a Montreal native and knows how much the fans want their Habs to succeed but it's not easy when the team's losing and the fans point the finger at him. But that's the price a hockey player has to pay to play in Montreal.
