What is Dragon Boat Racing?
It is:
Up to 20 competitors sitting side by side in a forty foot boat
A drummer at the prow, beating out the time on a large drum
A Helm, in the stern keeping the boat on the course with a giant paddle
A carved Dragon's Head and Tail adding length, majesty and colour to the boat
The whole crew of 22 working together to power the boat down the measured course with speed and finesse - this is Dragon Boat Racing. Britain's newest and brightest new watersport. It caters for all age groups in one crew, both male and female. It requires no previous experience to take part in.
Secklow 100 trains at Willen Lake in Milton Keynes. The training sessions take place on Sundays at 10.30 am and on Wednesdays evenings at 6.30 pm.
We compete in the National League.
One of our 1998 trophies when we came joint third.
