Summer

The veil of night surrounds us

In the hot sultry air,

But I can only cry for you

For soon you won’t be there.

The smoke clears, and the grass dies

Like all summer flings,

But for this very moment I’m in your arms

And my heart sings.

And though I know it will disappear

Like a bright shooting star

I want to spend each moment with you

And I hope you don’t forget

And you’ll always love me too.

So goodbye to the burning sun,

Goodbye to the green lawn soaked with dew.

I will never forget this summer,

And I’ll never stop loving you.
