Welcome to the official home page of the 2001 Oakville Bandits Men's Ball Hockey
team!!
The Bandits have now finished four seasons in the PBHL (Players Ball Hockey League). The PBHL is an original member of the NABHC (North American Ball Hockey Championships). The 2000 summer season was one of rebuiling after the team split. In their 2000 season, the Bandits had numerous 1 goal losses and narrowly missed a play-off berth. The 2000 Bandits built a team of strength, youth and speed. The final record of the team this season was 4 wins 10 losses and 1 ties for 9 points. This improves the Bandits life time regular season record to 20-35-7 for 47 points. You may check out the Players Ball Hockey League web site @ www.playersballhockey.com
With every year under the belt of the PBHL the competition grows even more fierce. In 2000 the PBHL had the honour of hosting the 2nd Annual North American Ball Hockey Championships. This tournament was comprised of league champions from all over the NABHC circut. A PBHL team emerged victorious (Vic West Devils). The up and coming 2001 season should be twice as eventful and exciting then the first four seasons. With the Bandits new found talent the expectations are much higher. Returning for his 5th year as team Captain is #67 Chris Watson will lead the way with two assisant captains and team vets #86 Mark Shepherd & #57 Scott MacLeod. The Bandits will be lead offensively by Shane Pepin with his counter parts Jim MacDonald and Sean Reilly on the #1 Line. The defense will be lead by Andrew "The Rock" Bishop with new comers John "Big Country" Will and Scott "The Rugger" Maxwell. Other returning members of Bandits defensive core include Dale Galarneau and Ryan Burke. One of the most exciting new
additions is net minder Jon Whitehead, he is accompanied by his brothers Steve and Drew. Steve Whitehead & Ted Newbery will be a great injection of youth and energy being members the St. Catherines Hawks Junior B 2000/2001 Hockey club. Ontairo Provincial Sprinter Mike "Pocket Rocket" Post will add a great deal of speed to the offence with his counter part Fred Marques chipping in with a great finishing touch around the net.
