Karelian Republican Public Organization "Defense and Future" is nongovernment, nonprofit public association. Its activities directs to assistance to social progress, to reaching of harmony between people and nature (environment), to actual realization of principle of S O C I A L J U S T I C E, to harmonious development of society and personality (individual).
Organization "Defense and Future" was founded on 1th March, 1998 by people of different professions and age. Now there are very few people in our organization, but we hope, that many people share our views, and our
ideals will find a response in hearts of people, who are not indeferent to future of Karelia, Russia and World in whole.

The members of our organization are people of different convictions, but we have V A L U E S , which unite us:

- S O C I A L I S M,
- D E M O C R A C Y (which we understand as power of people,
- F R E E D O M (L I B E R T Y),
- E Q U A L I T Y of all individuals, peoples, nationalities, nations and races, public associations, religions, religion and atheism,
- H U M A N R I G H T S as basis of highly developed society,
- every P E O P L E (N A T I O N) has R I G H T to self-determination right untill separation, to free development, to autonomy, to non-interference in internal affairs, "people, who oppresses other peoples, cannot be free",
- I N T E R N A T I O N A L I S M, ANTI-FASCISM, necessity of defense of R I G H T S of "S M A L L" (N A T I V E) P E O P L E S (N A T I O N S),
- principle: "from each person- in according to his (her) abilities, to (for) each person- in according to his (her) needs,
- wide local territorial and production S E L F - G O V E R N M E N T, F E D E R A L I S M,
- M U T U A L A S S I S T A N C E and S O L I D A R I T Y,
- harmonious development of person (personality),
- production and consumer C O - O P E R A T I O N,
- A V A I L A B I L I T Y of J U S T I C E (L E G A L P R O C E D U R E) for every person independently from her (his) financial position,
- free E D U C A T I O N and free M E D I C A L A I D (S E R V I C E),
- T A X S Y S T E M - in interests of society and not in interests of bureaucratic machinery,
- L A N D- the property of the whole people, and it cannot be sold (inadmissibility of sale of land),
- aspiration for garmonious coexistence P E O P L E and N A T U R E (E N V I R O N M E N T),
- necessity of defense of R I G H T S of A N I M A L S, who are living beings, who can (are capable of) feel, think, suffer.

- in compaign against battle (fighting) actions in Chechnya and in initiative group for carrying in Republic Karelia referendum about immediate cessation of hostilities in Chechnya and immediate withdrawal the federal
troops (military force) from Chechnya (Ichkeriya),
- in creation of group (circle) for study of H I S T O R Y of R E V O L U T I O N A R Y N A R O D N I K S,
- in elaboration of drafts laws,
- in compaign in defense of wolves from whole extermination.

- activities of circle for study of history of revolutionary Narodniks,
- collection of signings against pass of draft of Land Code, which permits the sale of land and sale of very valuable forests and almost does not provide any restrictions for landowners,
- defense of rights of citizens, who according to their convictions cannot
to take weapon in hands and want to go A L T E R N A T I V E C

organizations,
- creation of non-formal library,
- assistance to creation of "Specially Protected Natural Territories",
- publication of small editions (printings): brochures about human rights, history,
- make a complaint in court against on Ministry of ecology of Karelian Republic in defense of wolves from their whole extermonation,
- F R E E L E G A L A S S I S T A N C E for public associations in their activities,
- free legal assistance (legal advices, making (composition) deeds, defense in court) in defense of non-material human rights,
- free legal advices about L A B O U R R I G H T S and social security,
- the defense of animals from cruel treatment,
- we on principle don't participate in struggle for power.We proceed from principle, that anyone can carry out any reforms (transformations, reorganizations) in society only on condition, that reformers have many like-minded persons and broad (wide) support of people. Otherwise, these reforms will doom to failure or will become violence (coercion) people's freedom.
