Repairs

Following the awful fire of 8th November 2002 security at The Big Breakfast house was stepped up. It has now been renamed 'The Cottage' rather than the old 'Lock Keepers Cottages' and the late summer of 2003 has seen a remarkable transformation as these pictures, kindly taken and submitted by Paul Freedman who works in Bow, show...

Since June scaffolding has shot up around the house to support major roof renovations. If you remember the roof was pretty much destroyed in the fire. As you can see from the photos the new owners are giving the cottages a loft conversion with the addition of two roof windows. Security has been stepped up considerably an 8ft fence now surrounds the former Planet 24 compound. A huge pile of rubbish currently litters the back garden with the swimming pool still boarded over.

Update: March 2006. Much of the work now seems to be finished and the house is looking gorgeous. However builders have recently been replacing the upper windows nearest the canal - making them longer. We'll try and get some pics.
