Head Over Heels..continued
part 11~~~~~~~~~~~
He led her back to the same room that she'd met JC in before the show. He told her to sit and wait, that JC would be in after he showered and changed. Jen sat and fiddled with her fingernails until JC came in the room.
"Hey you." He said
"Hi." She replied, her voice shaky.
"What's wrong Jen?"
"I don't want you to leave JC. " Tears glistened in her eyes.
"Well I have some good news for you."
"What could that possibly be?"
"Johnny and Lou said that I could stay her tonight if you take me to the hotel in the morning." JC smiled and cupped her chin in his hand.
Jen jumped up off the couch and hugged him. "Are you serious? That's great!"
He spun her around. "Now let's blow this joint!"
They went out to Jen's car. After talking for a minute, they decided to go back to her place for the evening since they were both tired and just wanted to spend time together. They stopped and got some pizza and a movie on the way there.
Jen unlocked the front door and JC followed her in. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go change. Make yourself at home." She went up the stairs to her room.
JC put the pizza on the table and looked around at the pictures of her family that she had hanging on the walls. He heard her behind him and turned around. He couldn't believe his eyes. She was wearing a short and shirt pajama set and he found it extremely sexy. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. They broke away from each other and took the pizza into the living room and started the movie. Jen laid her head on JC's chest.
"Jen?"
"Yeah?"
"I've really enjoyed being with you the last couple of days. You're not like anyone else I've met." JC said.
"Thank you. I've enjoyed being with you too." She lifted her head so that she could kiss him. Their lips came together and they lost all interest in the movie. Pretty soon they were well into a heavy makeout session. Jen laid back on the couch and pulled JC with her.
He lifted his head. "Jen, you don't have to do this."
"You want to don't you?" She placed her hand over the bulge in his pants.
He groaned. "Of course I do. But I don't want to make you do anything you don't want to."
"Sshh." She silenced him and pulled his mouth to hers again. JC slipped his hand under her shirt and found that she wasn't wearing a bra. He gasped at the feel of her bare skin under his hand. She pulled his shirt over his head. "Lets go upstairs." She got up off the couch and took his hand. At the bottom of the stairs, he scooped her up in his arms and carried her into the bedroom. He laid her down on the bed. He slowly removed her pajamas, placing kisses over her body. She moaned softly and reached for him. He moved willingly into her arms. They made love slowly and sweetly and fell asleep in each other's arms.
part 12~~~~~~~~~~~
They woke up early the next morning and left to take JC to the hotel where the rest of the guys were staying. It was about a 3 hour drive from Jen's house. All the way there, they talked, learning more about each other's lives. They finally made it to the hotel.
"Why don't you stay a while?" JC asked.
"I wish that I could, but I have to get back." Jen lowered her head so that he wouldn't see the tears in her eyes.
JC lifted her chin with his hand. "Please don't cry Jen. I'll call you in a couple of days." He kissed her softly and got out of the car.
Jen sat there with tears streaming down her face and watched him until he disappeared through the doors of the hotel. When she couldn't see him anymore, she sighed and pulled out of the parking lot and headed home.
***
When she got home, Jen went straight to her room and collapsed on the bed. She was tired and her eyes were red and swollen because she'd cried almost all the way back. She laid there staring at the ceiling and soon fell asleep.
***
Jen woke up in the dark and didn't know where she was for a second. Then she remembered the drive home from the hotel and glanced at the clock on the nightstand. It read 5am. 'God, I really was tired.' She said out loud to herself, remembering that it had been 3pm the previous afternoon when she fell asleep. 'I might as well get up and get ready for work.' She trudged into the bathroom and took a shower. After lightly applying her make-up, she went into the kitchen and made herself some french toast. Even after she'd eaten, it was only 6:30am, so she decided to go into work early to try and take her mind off JC. No one was at the office but the cleaning people, so she settled down at her desk and threw herself into her work. She replied absently to her boss when he came in and told her hi. Jen worked straight through lunch all the way to five o'clock. She stopped at the store on her way home and bought some stuff to fix for supper. She was in the kitchen chopping up some vegetables when the phone rang. "I wonder who would be calling me?" Wiping her hands on her pants, she grabbed the phone. "Hello?"
part13~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jen! It's JC."
"Hi JC! Where are you?" Jen asked.
"We're in a motel about 2 hours from your house." JC told her. "I..um...was wondering if you could come see me."
"Oh, JC. I wish that I could but I have to work tomorrow." She replied with sadness in her voice.
"Oh, okay. So how's it going?" He tried to sound like it didn't bother him that much.
"Not too bad I guess. How about you?"
"I'm really tired. We've got another show tomorrow night." JC yawned.
"I'm sorry. Well, I guess I'll let you go get some sleep. Call me again soon." Jen couldn't bear hearing his voice and not being able to be close to him.
"Okay. I'll talk to you later. Bye." JC hung up the phone and got an idea. He went down the hall to Johnny's room and knocked on the door. He heard Johnny say to come in and opened the door.
"JC. What can I do for you?"
"I was wondering if we have a job open on the tour for a PR person or anything." JC asked him.
Johnny rubbed his chin and thought for a second. "You know, as a matter of fact we do. The guy that was doing it quit yesterday. Why do you ask?"
JC eyes lit up. "I know someone that would be perfect for the job. Right now she's an intern for a record label. She's the one that did the interview for us a few dayes ago."
"Well bring me her resume and stuff and I'll look at it."
"Okay. Thanks Johnny." JC told him goodnight and went back to his room. He picked up the phone and dialed Lou's number. After a few rings he picked up.
"Lou. It's JC. Listen, I really need to go somewhere before the show tomorrow night. Can you get me a car?" He cringed and waited for Lou to say no.
"I guess so. This had better be important."
"It is. Actually, I'm helping Johnny find a new PR person." JC stretched the truth a little.
"Okay. I'll have it waiting at 8am tomorrow morning. You just make sure you're back on time for the show."
"Thanks Lou." JC hung up the phone with a smile on his face. He laid in his bed thinking about how surprised Jen would be when he showed up at her work.
***The next morning***
JC went downstairs at promptly 8am and found the rental car Lou had arranged for. He drove the 2 hours to Jen's work and walked into the building. Looking at the directory on the wall, he found Jen's office and took the elevator upstairs. He walked into the office and asked the secretary to see Jen. She picked up the phone and dialed Jen's extension. "Jen you have a visitor out here." She put the phone back down and turned to JC. "You can go in sir."
JC took a deep breath and walked in the office the secretary had pointed out.
"I'll be with you in a minute." Jen said with her back still turned. After a bit, she turned around. "JC! What are you doing here?"
part 14~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I came to kidnap you." He gave her a little mischevious smile. "But you have to bring your resume and a copy of the interview that you did with us."
"Why?" Jen asked.
"Because I have a surprise for you."
Jen looked at him quizzically, but printed out the documents. She gathered her stuff and put it into her briefcase. "Can we stop at my house first so that I can change?"
"Sure." JC replied and they left. When they got to Jen's house, she changed quickly and started back into the living room where JC was waiting. "Bring some extra stuff just in case." He shouted at her. She turned around and grabbed a few more things. After she finished, she went back in the living room with JC.
"Okay. I'm ready I guess. Will you tell me what is going on?"
"In the car. Come on, we need to hurry." JC picked up her bag and took it out to the rental car. He opened Jen's door for her, then got in on the driver's side. He looked at her and smiled then took off. After they had made it onto the highway, he turned the radio down and made sure he had her attention. When he was sure she was listening he told her what he'd done.
"I talked to Johnny last night, and the tour needs a PR person. I told him that I knew someone who would be perfect for the job and he told me to bring him your resume. But I thought I'd bring him the real thing and let you do it." JC told her and waited for her reaction.
"That's great! I wish you would've warned me, but I really do appreciate you doing that." Jen replied with a smile on her face. She kissed him on the cheek and turned back to the road still smiling. They were mostly quiet on the way there. When JC pulled up in the parking lot, it started to really dawn on Jen what was about to happen.
"JC, I'm nervous. What if he doesn't like me?"
"He'll like you. Just worry about convincing him you're the one for the job. Johnny is nice, but he won't give you the job just because I want him to. I got you in, that's all I can do. It's up to you and your talent to do the rest."
JC put his arm around her and they walked into the hotel together. They got her checked into a room on the same floor as the guys and JC carried her bag up to the room. He sat on the bed while she went in the bathroom and freshened up. When she was done, she got her briefcase and JC took her to meet Johnny. They walked the room that was set up for meetings and knocked on the door. They heard Johnny tell them to come in and they did. When they walked in the room, they saw Johnny sitting with someone at a table.
"Oh, hi JC. I'll be done here in a minute. " He said and turned back to the other person.
"That must be someone else trying out for the job." JC whispered.
Jen just nodded and her face got really pale. After a few minutes, Johnny and the other person stood up and shook hands and the other person left. Johnny walked over to where Jen and JC were sitting. "What do you need JC?"
"Johnny, this is Jen. She's the one I was telling you about for the PR job." JC introduced them.
"Hi Jen. Go have a seat at that table. JC, could you excuse us please?"
JC looked at Jen and she nodded her head. He smiled at her and walked out into the hall.
Johnny walked over to the table and sat down across from Jen. "Let's see that resume of yours."
part 15~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jen handed him her resume and sat there, twisting her hands nervously. Johnny looked over the resume and asked her a few questions, then told he would get back to her when he made his decision. She thanked him and walked out into the hallway to find JC waiting for her.
"So how did it go?" He asked.
"I'm not sure. I mean, he didn't ask many questions and just said that he'd get back to me."
"Oh. Don't be discouraged. That's how Johnny always does interviews. He tries to be really fair and not make decisions on the spot." JC told her. He put his arm around her shoulders and they walked down to the lobby together. They found a table in the little cafe and sat down to get a snack. They sat there and talked for awhile, then it was time for JC to go get ready for the show. Jen went back to her room and decided to take a nap. When she woke up, she took a shower and got ready for the concert that night. She took her car to the venue and found her seat. JC had gotten her a front row center ticket and she waited patiently for the show to start. When the guys came on stage, JC immediately fixed his eyes on her. Through the entire concert, he kept his gaze on her. By the time it was over, the people around her were whispering, wondering if she was his girlfriend. She didn't think that they realized that she overheard, because they said a few things that weren't very nice. Sadly, she went out to her car and drove back to the hotel. After being in her room awhile, she heard a knock at the door and figured it was JC. But when she opened the door, she saw Johnny standing there.
"Hi Jen. Can you meet down in the lobby in a few minutes? I would like to talk to you about the job." He said to her.
"Sure." She replied, trying not to show her excitement. She shut the door and went back into the room, straigtening her clothes and touched up her make-up. Then she went downstairs and found Johnny waiting for her. She sat down in a chair across from him and waited to hear what he had to say.
"I'll get right to the point. I've had quite a few applications for the PR job." He began and her heart sank.
"Your credentials are very impressive and show a strong background in the communications areas. If you really think that you can handle the workload, I'm prepared to give it a try." He finished and looked at her.
Jen just sat there for a minute, letting it sink in. Then she composed herself and said with confidence, "I think that I can, Mr. Wright."
Johnny reached across the little table between them and shook her hand. "Welcome aboard then. Do you need to give your current employer a notice? It would be much better if you could start right away, and I will call him if you'd like."
"Could you? He's been really great to me and I hate to leave him like this, but I understand that you need someone immediately. I'm sure he will too, but he'd probably take it better if it came from you." Jen replied.
"I'll call him first thing in the morning then. You go get some rest and I'll come find you after I talk to him." Johnny got up and headed upstairs.
Jen sat there in the lobby smiling to herself until the guys' limo pulled up and they came rushing in. The security at the hotel was very tight and no one without a room there was not allowed inside. JC grabbed her hand and they got on the elevator together.
