Backyard gardens can be loads of fun (as well as loads of work!) but the
results are always worth the effort. It doesn't matter if you have 1 square
mile or 1 square foot- there is always enjoyment from colourful flowers
and plants! You'd be surprised at just how many critters will appreciate
your efforts and will set up camp in your yard! You can create your own mini
ecosystem!

Marigolds-plant of the genus Tagetes of the family Asteracae, there are about 30 species of annual
plants native to the Americas. They are mostly red, yellow and orange flowers
that are solitary or clustered with leaflike structures that form a cup at the base of the flower. They have very strong
scented leaves
Pansy- a popular cultivated hybrid violet of the family Violaceae. Native to
Europe, the pansy is one of the oldest cultivated flowering plants. It is an
annual or short lived perennial and grows 15 to 30 cm tall. The colors are usually
in combos of velvety blues, yellows and whites and are 2.5 to 5 cm across with
5 petals. Four petals are in pairs; the fifth has a short spur.
Wouldn't you enjoy waking up to this every morning?(Just be glad that
you don't have to water all of this!
Tulip - the common for bulbous plants comprising the genus Tulipa
of the family Liliaceae. Within about 100 species there are thousands of colorful
varieties. Most have solitary bell-shaped flowers and thick bluish-green
leaves that are clustered at the base of the plant. The fruit is a capsule
with many seeds.
