John Caughey's military records show that he was born in PA. He served in the 6th PA line during the Revolution. It is shown that he returned to Erie, PA after being discharged.

John moved to Kentucky Co., VA in the late 1700's. His home was in 1)VA 2)Bourbon Co. KY 3)Nicholas Co. KY and he never moved. Elizabeth's maiden name is not known. If you have family that lived on Licking River in Nicolas Co.,KY, they may have been friends or relatives to John and Elizabeth.
