Sailing by the lava flows from Kilawea (little red spots are fiery hot lava)
One of the resorts on Kauai
My favorite place...Waikiki beach in Honolulu, Oahu
Honolulu: November 26- Decmeber 2, 2003
After exploring New Zealand on my own and with Contiki, I stopped over in Honolulu. The sun was so nice after the luke warm temperaturesof nz, until the rain came out. We made the mistake of shopping on 'black friday', the US's most busy shopping day of the year, there were thousands of people at this mall. over 50 people in line at Old navy! some people had lined up at 2am! like Canada's boxing day. We stayed at the dodgiest hostel ever, cockroaches and people vomiting. really disgusting, but it was cheap and a block from Waikiki...we ended up meeting an ex-cruise staff from rccl! small world...But we did manage to sneal into some of the more posh hotels! This is Claire and I enjoying thre beautiful plumeria's, my favorite tropical flower...if only they would grow in alberta!
This is the Sheraton hotel, all decorated for Christmas
Of course, what visit to Hawaii is complete without a visit to the beach?
We went to the north shore for the day to watch the World surfing champs, but didn't see any action, the beaches were gorgeous enough! This is a view of Waikiki from Diamond Head, photo couresty of Claire
Then we headed back to Vancouver, and me onto edmonton..my 22nd flight this year! 21 last year...you get so bored on these long flights, I counted all my flights.. I hope you all have enjoyed my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! Thank you for visiting my page at Angelfire. Please come back and visit again!
