Alaska 2001-2002

I first cruised on the Vision of the seas with my friend jane, in August 2001. We had both finished contracts as youth staff onboard the majesty of the seas, better known to crew as the "misery of the seas". We headed out to Vancouver, only to be met by crew at the cruise ship terminal to be told the ship was full and the chances were not good, in fact, impossible that we would be able to get on. So we wandered about Robson street and tried to make other plans. Then we journied back to the port, to wait...and wait...until at about 3:45 they said we could go on! there was one extra cabin! wheeeeee....the only problem was the ship saild at 4:30! The gangway was closing at 4:00! meanign we had about 10 minutes to get us and our luggage on the ship, and park my car! I ended up leaving my keys with a port employee to park it for me! amazingly, he wouldn't take any money and the car was there when we arrived bcak in port after 7 days!

The ships went from Vancouver to Skagway, Juneau, Hubbard Glacier/Glacier Bay and to Ketchikan.

Classic! there are oodles of icebergs in "glacier alley" enroute to Glacier Bay

One of my favorite experience EVER was a helicopter tour Shannon and I went on in Skagway. The helicopter took us nad dropped us off on the top of a glacier, somewhere in the middle of all the mountains! we walked around up there for a while before they took us back to Skagway, it was unbelievable!

One of the amazing views from a helicopter tour I did...I took this photo! I still can't believe it! it was like my toes were touching the tops of the mountains as we flew over!

Canada Day with no warm tropical nights...brrr! It was so cold that night, but here I am with Moose Maggie & SuperStar Shannon

And yet another silly theme party...this one was the Crazy Hat party
