INTRODUCTION:

Kids Around the World Ministries, aka Rich and Kathy Hartman, is a non-profit ministry founded in 1989. Their primary focus is ministering to children worldwide. However, they also emphasize the importance of ministering to the adult portion of the Body of Christ. Their method of carrying out that vision could be explained through the old Chinese proverb: "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime."

Rich and Kathy are anointed and recognized nationwide for their "grace-gift" to teach children, but they have come to realize that their ministry to children is simply giving them spiritual "fish." Therefore, they have focused on teaching the local church how to "spiritually fish" for their children and thus "feed them for a lifetime."

On Nov. 20, 1983 at 4:00 a.m. the Lord woke Rich up out of his sleep and said "prepare for war." That evening at the church they were attending, Jerry Savelle was ministering and said, "open your Bibles to Joel 3:9, Wake up the mighty men, prepare ye for war."

After ministering for years to parents and teachers, the Lord reminded Rich that, children are like arrows in the hands of a mighty man (Psalm 127:4) and that their ministry was to be devoted to WAKE UP THE MIGHTY MEN!

Therefore, the focus of this ministry is:

#1. To wake up the adult portion of the Body of Christ to the importance of ministering to children.

#2. To teach them the "how to" of ministry to children both in the local church and in the home.

They accomplish this through:

* Teacher Training Workshops

* Children's Workers Bible School

* Camps, Crusades, Vacation Bible School, and Conferences teaching children.

Here is a little History for you:

• Rich & Kathy Hartman began teaching children in 1985 while attending the School of the Local Church at Grace Fellowship.
• While attending Bible school, they worked as prayer counselors at Oral Roberts University
• In 1986, the gradated from the School of the Local Church, then moved to Okla. City where they worked in a small church as singles ministers and also helped in children's church. They helped produce 13 episodes of a children's television program called Kids R Us.
• In 1988 they began traveling with Carman.
• In 1989 while still with Carman, they incorporated R & K Ministries,
• D.B.A. Kids Around the World.
• In addition to touring with Carman in 1989, they began ministering nationwide, as well as in Mexico and Canada, conducting parenting seminars, teacher workshops, kids camps, crusades, and conferences.
• In 1990, Rich & Kathy launched into full-time ministry as Kids Around the World Ministries.
• In 1991 and 1992, they ministered at Carman's High Praise Conference.
• In 1992, they began at Grace Fellowship Church in Tulsa, Okla as the Children's Pastors with over 700 children and 200 teachers.
• They taught Children's Ministry at Grace Fellowships School of the Local Church for 3 years.
• While at Grace, they directed 3 children's musicals. One of the productions was titled R2Not2, and was co-written with Phil Calvert.
• Since June of 1995, Kids Around the World launched back on the road.
• In Jan. of 1995, Kids Around the World, in joint venture with Grace Fellowship released their first children's music tape entitled "I'm Free."
• In January of 1996, Kids Around the World began touring with the "I'm Free" Family Praise Concerts.
