Sponsership within the Dragons of Cambria

When an individual wishes to become a member of the Dragons, he must petition for a sponser. The sponser is usually of the same class, but must be at least a Decurion in rank.
The sponser's duties are manyfold.
  • First, he is responsible for overseeing training. In game terms, if the player is less then 5th level, the sponser oversees his elelvation, and assists him in choosing a path to take.
  • The sponcer teaches the petitioner the rules governing the guild.
  • Finally, the sponcer petitions to the Legate Commander or Primus Pilus to allow full membership on behalf of the petitioner, siting his merits and abilities.

Sponsership generally lasts from 3 days to one weeks time. The matter will be brought before either the Legate Commander or Primus Pilus at the earliest possible time after the sponsership begins. At the conclusion of the sponcership, the petitioner should meet the following requirements:

  • Petitioner should be at least 5th level.
  • Full fledged status requires the petitioner to be a Cambrian Celt (for game purposes, a Highlander or a Briton). Others will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

If all these requirements are met, the Legate Commander or Primus Pilus will decide on the matter, and the petitioner will be considered a full fledged member of the Pendragon Federation.

Many of the ideas for the organization of this guild were taken from The Camulod Chronicles by Jack Whyte, which is another account of the Arthurian legends which removes much of the fantasy elements usually inherent in such stories. This series is highly recommended.
