This is the way I make a hood mold so that the parts fit and the mold building process is made easy. You can get to it from all sides. Tape off what you don't want sprayed with DuraTech or gel coat. And it will keep drippings off stuff you don't want it on. Let's begin:

1. Blasting & Body Work has been done.
2.Primed with DuraTech.
3. Wet sanded with 600 grit, then 1000 or 1500 grit.
4. Polished to a high luster and TR High Temp mold release applied. 12 coates, 20 minutes between coats.
5.Mold almost complete. Note flanges made into it for triming part while still green. They also act as braces to minimize warpage.
6.1st part made from the new mold.
