"The Shot"

This is a painting of Keith Smart's game-winning basket in the 1987 National Championship game, against the Syracuse Orangemen at the Louisiana Superdome.

So, without further ado, here are the pictures of my painting for my brother.

I'm actually using a combination of pictures to create the final product.  I've been unable to find any pictures of Keith Smart's shot, when the ball is at the top of it's arch to the basket, so I'm using 2 pictures -- one well after his release, and the ball is in the net -- the other picture is right when he's releasing the ball.  As you can tell from the pictures I'm finishing everything in the background first, and then will add the players and everything else last.  After the background is finished, I'll "black" over the crowd and everything else, so as to draw out the players and most importantly, Keith Smart, in the foreground.  I'll be adding more pictures soon, as I work more and more on it.
