William James Wyatt and his wife, Wilhelmina Kirkpatrick Wyatt lived in Tennessee until William's death, at which time "Willie" as his wife was called moved to California with her two children, Charles and Hannah. This page lists Charles and Hannah's story

Charles was born on May 23, 1892 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was the first child born to William Wyatt and Wilhelmina Kirkpatrick Wyatt. Their mother raised both Charles and his sister Hannah as their father died suddenly in 1901 when Charles was only nine and his sister was four. On January 20, 1912 he married Anne Seaver.

Anna was a teacher's apprentice in Murfreesboro, but originally from Boston, Mass. Shortly after his marriage he, his wife, and mother moved to San Clemente California and opened his father's family tailoring business there and met with great success. Within a few years they also became an exclusive Men's Clothing store. Charles enrolled in school after the birth of his son in 1914; Charles was an excellent student and attended two years at a state college in Sacramento. In 1921, at 29, Charles contacted tuberculosis, and nearly died from complications. His wife and mother continued working the clothing store, expanding to women's apparel, but within the year, Charles was able to return to work, but suffered the rest of his life from the effects of TB. He and his family moved to nearby Santa Ana, California in 1926, purchasing a grand estate south of the city. His business flourished and soon went from one to 12 stores throughout southern California.

In 1955, at 63, Charles suffered a stroke, and lived his remaining years in a convalescent home until his death in 1967 at the age of 74. His wife Anna died September 19, 1979 at the age of 86

Charles, until his bout with TB a strong and handsome man, given to particular dress and fashion for both himself and his family. He was a little over 6ft with dark brown hair with dark hazel eyes. His favorite pastime was swimming and golfing.

Charles and Anna had one child, Charles Robert Jr.

Hannah married Charles Avery Waddell and moved to Jacobia, Tx., where she died in 1977.
