- Dec. 2 - 8 AM: The Fairfield Country Business-Industry Safety Council breakfast will be held at the Lancaster Best Western. Guest speaker, Gretchen Krum from Toxco, a division of LithChem International, will discuss “The Big Green Box” battery recycling. This unique project provides a means to recycle lithium, alkaline, nickel cadmium, mercury, silver and other batteries as well as cell phones, laptops, PDA’s, chargers, radios and more. - Dec. 13 - 6 PM: 25th Annual Candle Light Tour of downtown Lancaster churches. “Silver Bells” is the theme for this year’s event, a walking tour of eight historic churches, beginning at either the First Methodist Church or the First Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for children under 12 and available at Kroger east or west, the Georgian, Sherman House or any of the eight churches on the tour.
