Man arrested for disconnecting local train (short story see "The Metro Press" for full story) Northwood - A man tired of waiting for a 120 car train to pass on Wales Rd disconnected it so he could cross. The slowly moving train was cut at 90 cars leaving 30 cars unattached on the TT tracks on March 13. According to police the man Lawrence D. Tunison is a engineer for NS. The disconnected cars were streched over the NS tracks. CSX police said the air was cut to the last 30, which kept the 90 moving without the engineer moving, leaving the 30 stationary. NS police said the blockage delayed 4 trains for an hour. CSX and NS both said that the incident caused "significant loss of revenue" due to the delay. Mr. Tunison said later it "was a stupid thing to do" and that he knew better because he is a NS engineer. Mr. Tunison is facing an internal inquiry and was "basically fired from Norfolk Southern" according to the police report.
