This Only Applies to certain States,Not All Security Officers can arrest or detain,unless you are authorized to do so..If you are planning to become involved in the Security,please check with the State in which you live in and the Security Agency you plan to work for,on what powers you have ...

Facts concerning training and eligibility for becomiming a Security Officer,most employers prefer a future Officer to be a High School Graduate or Posses a G.E.D. and a valid Drivers License,some experiance is preferd but not always necessery,training is provided. Applicants are expected to have a clean Police Record,Good Character References,and Good Health. One Important thing About Being a Security Officer is ALWAYS BE ALERT,even if its been quiet for months,because this is when things start to happen. No matter what the person you are dealing with may call you,keep a professional attitude and perspective on the job.If you let them get to you,you have most definately lost the battle and let them win. And note that Most Security jobs are fourty hours a week and weekends. So if your'e in this field be prepared to give up your weekends and evenings,because Security isn't always a 9-5 job.
