American LSA Members

I confess to my uncertainty regarding the role of the American LSA. Distances and a paucity of supporters makes actual meetings or events logistically impractical. The nature of the LSA may be primarily virtual, providing a web home and meeting place, a means of introducing the American fans to each other. To that end, I’ll try to maintain a current list of the LSA members, with bios and, if available, photos as well. Not as much fun as meeting each other in person, but it’s a start. And who knows, maybe some day we’ll arrange an event, maybe even an American fans pilgrimage to Mecca, a.k.a. Loftus Road.

Mark: (a.k.a. qpr_mark), was the first 'official' member of the LSA, responding within a day of the website going on line. I know Mark throught the official message board.

Doug: DougQPR@aol.com (In his own words) Hoping that my son, my father and I can become the first members other than you and your wife to QPR LSA in USA. All of us have supported QPR our whole lives as did two generations of my family before that. I am marooned in Michigan where the combination of the Lions (Detroit's American football), the Tigers (Detroit's baseball team, quite pathetic really), the Spartans (Michigan State University American football team) make life miserable. QPR brightens it in spite of the rough few years. Here is a link to the Northwood University site with his bio. Doug's Northwood University Bio

Dave Baker: Dbaker1@mxsi.com Known as qpr_forever" on the official site message board, Dave lives in Detriot and shares the pain that is the Tigers (a.k.a. Motor City Kitties) with Doug.

Rob Lytle: hee_bly@yahoo.com : (In his own words) My name is Rob Lytle, and I live in Moore,Oklahoma (also known as the home of 2 really big tornadoes, one last May and one 4 years before!) I've recently developed quite an interest in what we call 'soccer', and a friend who lives here but was raised in London, turned me onto QPR. I grew up playing American football and basketball. Still play a bit of basketball. But in soccer, these guys run flat out for 90 minutes, very few subs, and no TV timeouts. What athletes! I've been to the QPR official site, and have been learning a lot about the team and the rules. I'm a rookie but a fast learner. Oh,and I'm 42. I've never cheered for a particular soccer team, but be warned, once I pick a team I am extremely loyal. I've picked QPR! Gooooo RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRs!!!

Michael Stotler: mstotler@zilskelaw.com Known as 'yankeeqprfan' on the official site message board, Michael is a lifelong R's fan, transplanted to Milwaukee, which is the home of the "Wave", and American team which has a formal affiliation with the Rangers.

Terry Norman: TRNorman@aol.com Terry and I have chatted over many a match via the QPR message board, where he goes by the name "A Texas Ranger". Can you guess where Terry lives? How very clever of you,...yes, it is Texas.

Mike Silver: mdsilver24@yahoo.com My name is Michael Silver I have lived in Southern California all my life. I came upon QPR while playing FIFA 1995. I played as a team called "Queens PR". One year later, I got the Internet and discoverd that "Queens PR" was none other than Queens Park Rangers. I have been following ever since. Come on U R's!!!

Jamie Soning: (In his own words) I, along with my wife & 2 kids, moved from Hendon, London, to NYC 4 years ago. Up until that time I had been a season ticket holder at QPR for many years, making most home games & a fair few away games. The only thing that I really miss about the UK is my beloved Super Hoops. I’m very proud to have created 3 QPR monsters, my 3 kids (1 born in the US). I make it my mission to spread the gospel of QPR every where I go, & I’m actually quite successful at this. The internet enables me to keep up with events surrounding QPR & QPR World is fantastic. Listening to our games on the net is the next best thing to actually being there. The last match I attended was the Play Off final, which me & my 7 year old son (now 8) flew over for. It was his 1st proper footy bonding session, although over the last 4 years he has been to more matches than me. Last season was the 1st season in decades that I didn’t make 1 match. I own a tile store in New Rochelle, which is basically the Bronx, which ain’t exactly a bed of roses. I think I will probably end up staying in America for the rest of my life, which is good for message spreading purposes.

Jamie and his son. Can you take a guess which football team the boy supports?

Frank: LoftUSA@sbcglobal.net That's me, Frank Duchossois, the proud founder of this prestigious association. You’ll find me on the QPR message board frequently. I go by the uncannily devious name, “duchossois”. If you’re tuned in to the QPR World web cast or BBC Live Text game coverage, log on to the message board and join in the fun; many of the international R’s fans chat as we follow the action. And if you happen to be in the Cleveland area, my wife Sue and I will hold an impromptu "Official LSA Session" down at the local Applebee's in your honor.(see the photo below.)
