"A Scent of a Rose"

A three character/one set new play.
(Inspired by Strindberg's "Miss Julie"). This sensual story about a spoiled heiress, with a forbidding past. When Life throws her a curve, she turns to the Mexican-American chauffeur for solace. She discovers life changes only to stay the same, with tragic results.
“TWICE UPON A TIME”
A new play by Pamela V. Merkys & Robert Thomas Noll
A story about a father who helped his daughter deal with her grandmother’s dementia using magic and a fairy tale. His message was so powerful that later his daughter demonstrated she understood that after the mind has gone, the heart remains to love.

“Harry and Mary” written with Edward J. Walsh, premiered at Dobama Theater in Cleveland. Later taped and aired in prime time by NBC (WKYC-TV3 in Cleveland).
“Two Can Play”
adapted from “Harry and Mary” by A.J. Carothers. Barter Theater starring Gary Collins and Joyce Bulifant. Oscar winner Halley Mills will star this fall in a production at the New Theater in Kansas City.
“Oliver Twist” a new adaptation. Premiered at Dallas Children’s Theater. Later published by Dramatic Publishing. Over 40 different productions over the past few years.
“Balto - The Dog That Saved Nome, Alaska”Written with William Hoffman. Lyrics and Music by Bill Hoffman.
Premiered at The
Cleveland Play House in April 2005.Available through Dramatic Publishing. National tour begins Fall of 2006, produced by Main Stage.
“Dinner with Mother” premiered at The Theatre-Studio, 8th Avenue, New York City.
“Famous” premiered at The Theatre-Studio, 8th Avenue, New York City.
“Pied Piper” premiered at The Cleveland Play House. Later published by Baker’s Plays. Over 50 different productions. Recently translated into Dutch.
“Pied Piper of Hamelin” the musical (book and lyrics) with music by Peter J. Wilson, premiered at Musicarnival in Cleveland, Ohio. Later published by Baker’s Plays.

“The Phantom of the Opera - The Play” written with John Kenley and David Gooding. Premiered at Carousel Theater in Akron, Ohio. Later toured the US and published by Samuel French.
“The Phantom of the Opera” the musical with score, music, lyrics, and book by Ivan Jacobs. Played in the U.S. and many times in South America and Europe.
“Circus Time!” with songs by David Pogue, premiered at The Cleveland Play House. Published by Dramatic Publishing.
“Billie and Her Hillbilly Barnyard Band” a musical written with David Pogue and Cassandra Wolfe, premiered at The Cleveland Play House. Won Enchanted Playhouse national competition for Best new children’s play.
“Mother's Day” premiered at The Beck Center in Lakewood, Ohio.
“A Mother's Day, one act version” premiered at Lakeland Community College as a winner of the Ohio One Act Play Festival.Revised version premiered at the Theater Studio in New York City.
“Live at Eleven!” written with David Manocchio, premiered at John Carroll University Theater and a winner of the Ohio League of Theater’s Playwriting Award.
“Tree and Baby Bee” premiered at Lorain Community College.
“What Ever Happened to Little Red?” premiered at Playhouse Square Foundations Palace, State and Ohio Theaters in Cleveland.
“Return Engagement” written with Edward J. Walsh and premiered at Berea Summer Theater and a revised version at Cuyahoga Community College.
“Beloved Friend” premiered at the Theater Studio in New York City.
“Pu-a and the Menehunes” with songs by David Pogue, premiered at Ursuline College in Cleveland, Ohio.
“'Tis the Season” a musical (book and lyrics) with music by Kevin A. Carr, premiered at Kent State University.
“February 30th” premiered at Kent State University. Later aired on WGCL-FM in Cleveland.
“It All Started With ...” premiered at Kent State University.
