Game Story

READING, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Graig Mischler had two goals and two assists and Steve Belanger posted a shutout in his ECHL debut as the Reading Royals routed the Florida Everblades, 6-0, to take the third game of the best-of-five Eastern Conference Finals. Mischler provided the only goal of the first period and opened the second with a power-play tally to give Reading a 2-0 edge. The Northeastern University product then assisted on the final two goals of the game to finish the first four-point performance of his career. Belanger, who replaced Cody Rudkowsky in net when Rudkowsky was promoted to the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League the day before, turned away all 26 shots he faced to register the second shutout for Reading in the postseason. Leon Hayward and Kent Davyduke both added a goal and an assist for the Royals, who were 3-of-11 on power plays in improving to 4-1 at home in the playoffs. Rob Zepp and Jeff Maund combined to make 20 saves for Florida, which takes a two games to one advantage into game four at Reading on May 5.
