Royals diary

Well, another week has gone by and we have seen our record improve to a very impressive 10-6 after splitting last weekend with Trenton. The Titans beat us Friday and we beat them Saturday.
I asked forward Ryan Kinasewich what he thought was the key to the win
against Trenton Saturday night?
"I think the key moment happened before the game when ‘Laser’ Larry Courville
gave a very inspirational speech," Kinasewich said.
"He
told the boys that there would be some barley pops on the line. I guess when
there are beers on the line the boys will respond."
Those are
the words of a true western boy.
We had
another long week of practice as we prepared for two very important home games
against Johnstown and Wheeling.
Practices this week were short and hard. There was a lot of intensity. We had more guys this week, which made practice run very smoothly. We were lucky to get two great guys back from call-ups. Graig Mischler and Adam Borzecki are back and ready.
I asked Mish how he felt about being back.
"Well, being up was great and that’s where I want to be, but in hindsight I couldn’t let cowboy Larr (Courville) stay on top of the pingpong tour for too long," he said. "I’ve come to reclaim my title."
This will be a tough task as the Larr Dog has won 11 straight, dating to last
week. Good luck Mish.
We are crawling closer and closer to Christmas, so there has been a lot of
shopping going on this week by the guys.
I asked some of the guys what they would like for Christmas.
"I don’t really want much," Courville said, "but I do have one wish. My wish
would be for God to send me one pingpong player that could give me a challenge.
These guys here have nothing."
Those are the strong words of No. 1-ranked Cowboy Larr on the Royals pingpong
tour.
I asked forward Jeff Miles what he wanted.
"Well I guess I would wish for world peace," he said. "Yeh, yeh. I think
people will like me for saying that. That was a good answer. Oh don’t write that
last part."
