PEORIA RIVERMEN
VIITANEN AND SKLADANY BOTH ASSIGNED TO QUAD CITY MALLARDS AS HERSHEY PREPARES
FOR FIVE-GAME ROAD TRIP
HERSHEY – The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that the club has recalled
center Graig Mischler from the Reading Royals (ECHL) and signed defenseman
Trevor Johnson to a player tryout contract. In a pair of corresponding
moves, the BEARS also announced that defenseman Mikko Viitanen and forward
Frantisek Skladany have been assigned to Quad City (UHL).
Johnson has played 12 games this season with the Peoria Rivermen (ECHL)
with three goals and eight points. Mischler, who played in the AHL for two
seasons with the Cleveland Barons, has 11 points in 14 games for Reading in
2004-05. A draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks in 1998, Mischler is
expected to be in HERSHEY in time to accompany the team to Albany for
Wednesday night’s game. Johnson skated with HERSHEY today at the team’s
practice at GIANT Center.
The BEARS begin a five-game road trip Wednesday night in Albany against the
River Rats. Face-off at Pepsi Arena is set for 7:00 p.m., with the
pre-game show on the BEARS radio network beginning at 6:40 p.m. HERSHEY
plays next at home on Saturday, December 11 against the Bridgeport Sound
