The Future of the Heavyweight Division

Here's a brief look at the top 10 rated prospects in the heavyweight division. These are all fighters who have yet to break into the top 20 in the world rankings. With a record of 27-0-1 with 18 KOs, "The Butcher" Ron Stander of Omaha, Nebraska, appears to have the best shot at becoming the first of these 10 fighters to break into the top 20. Stander is a brawler all the way with a cast iron jaw. However, he does have his weaknesses. He has a tendency to bleed and he may lack the power in his fists to overcome his non-existent defensive skill. There is no lack of courage and determination in Ron Stander, though, and those are two attributes that can carry a man past his physical limitations. At the time of this writing, Stander has signed to take on his first real test in rugged veteran and former contender, Amos Lincoln.
