The Office

By Marie Ford

The Office is a new book published by PublishAmerica that features the antics and crazy hijinks of lawyers whose favorite pastime is boozing it up at the local watering hole. Meet George, Sonny and Joey, the partners at McCaffey, Hill & Carroll, as they try and fit their clients in between gambling trips to Las Vegas and frequent trips to their satellite office, otherwise known as The Fish Pond. Luckily for them, they have a devoted office staff working tirelessly on behalf of them and all of their clients. You’ll meet Tracy, the receptionist; Vickie, the new Associate; and Jamie, the sometimes office manager. This book offers a humorous look at how dysfunction in an office setting can lend itself to a lot of laughs when everyone engages in the Code of Silence.

"First, we kill all the lawyers." William Shakespeare.

So begins the first page of my story the Office, a tale of two small law firms with big drinking problems. Hi! My name is Marie Teresa Ford, and I am an author. My book The Office will soon be published and I hope you’ll read it and laugh out loud.

Hello and welcome to my website. I hope you like my book the office – let me tell you a little bit about it. The Office is the story of McCaffey, Hill & Carroll, a small law firm with a big appetite for beer, wings and beautiful women. They golf, drink and party their way through the days. Their exploits and foibles, along with their wacky clients, are told through the eyes of Vickie, their first year Associate. Vickie and the rest of the staff try to maintain order in the midst of chaos; their attempts include counseling and Al Anon, office managers, and a prioritized list of watering holes to call when a partner is MIA. The hilarious antagonist to these drunken protagonists is Andrew, the recovered alcoholic boyfriend of Vickie who doesn’t drink – but hates anyone who does.

Who is this book for? Anyone and everyone who wants a good laugh! Those folks who are familiar with the law will love it – and anyone familiar with the twelve step approach to life will get a chuckle over the meetings Vickie attempts to bring sense to the partners errant ways.
