How accurate are these discs?
Well I did a career replay of Tommie Agee and here are the results:
Actual: 3,912 999 170 27 130 918
Replay: 3,912 1036 158 24 131 902
These discs truely reflect each player's careers.
Thoughout my replay, Agee had both hot and cold streaks hitting the ball but it evened out in the end.
Here are the results:
Actual: 529 95 15 3 4 105
Replay: 529 87 9 7 6 101
My 2 sons play All Star Baseball nonstop. One is 6 the other is 10.
They agree that it is so much more fun than playing videos.
I am a principal and a teacher at a Lutheran grade school.
My 6 year old is far ahead of the other students in math, reading and writing at this point.
This may sound stupid but All Star Baseball has something to do with it. He does statistics, adding and organizing.
He neatly writes the players' name and this continues into the classroom, he remembers how to spell "Garciaparra".
My 10 year old is so far advanced when it comes to Baseball knowledge.
His math skills are superior because of all the statistics he does with the game... averages, ERA's, totals, records,etc.

Scott, I am sorry that is has taken me so long to get back to you on my thoughts.
I played all star baseball as a boy growing up in Chicago, every year I would look forward to incorporating the new group of players,
but when the MLB season started and a new player would become a star, I often wished I could make a disc for him.
I tried, always in vain, to create a disc for him, never having found the right formula.
Flash forward some thirty-something years, and while trying to find a board game that I could play with my 10-year old daughter,
one that had nothing to do with Twilight, I remembered all star baseball.

I was disappointed when Cadaco stop making the game and searched for a long time to buy one.

I have bought many sets of discs from Scott.
They are well made, the paper is sturdy and will last.
I have played out the entire 1871 season using Scott's discs and it was very fun, besides learning all the players.
Looking at the discs gives you a feel for what the game was like in the time period you are playing.
For example, in 1871 it took 9 balls to get a walk, so there are very few of them, and this is readily apparent when scanning the discs.
I have also bought some custom sets of my own devising, which have worked out as well. jc

I LOVE the 1970s discs I bought!
Played for the first time with my younger daughter today, and, even though my mostly Reds team lost to her Hall of Fame Team in a high-scoring affair.
I had a blast when Pete Rose led off one inning with a triple (at the end of which I imagine he most certainly slid head-first!)
and was driven in by Joe Morgan, followed by doubles by Tony Perez and Johnny Bench.
It was as if the Big Red Machine had taken the field once again!

I would say you had a pretty darn good business going for you.
The disks arrived yesterday from NY and were in excellent condition.
They look to reflect authentic statistics as far as I can tell.
I found a 1988 version of Cadaco's "All Star Baseball" on E-Bay.
What I needed was some "up to date" disks, which you provided.
My six year old son is an avid baseball fan (Giants) and I think he'll love this game as much as I did when I was a kid.
Together with a couple other fellows, we had a "little baseball league" going of our own.
I learned a lot of baseball from that game and actually had an invitation to try out for the Chicago Cubs by Joe Tinker.
Being an "All Star Baseball Player-Fan", I knew who Tinker was.
I turned him down, choosing to on to college and medical school.
If my grandson, Aidan, does indeed like the idea of playing a realistic baseball game without electronics and flashing lights,
I'll be ordering more disks in the future.

Approximately 50 years ago my father Douglas Keen passed up a chance to go to spring training with St Louis Cardinals to start a family.
He then asked my mother if they could have enough kids to field a baseball team.
My brothers and I grew up learning about baseball from my father while playing All Star Baseball.
In 1981 the first of 9 grandsons were born, and the tradition of learning to play ball while playing All Star baseball continued.
In 2005 his dream of having enough kids to have a baseball team came true when his 5 sons and 5 grandsons
stepped onto the field to play a vintage baseball game as the South County Jaspers, those games continue to be played today.
This past October my father passed away knowing his dream of having enough kids to play ball with came true.
I would like to honor his memory & dream by having All Star Baseball Discs made of his team.

Scott, The discs were actually for my son who is 13 and he liked them.
Just for your information the All Star game he is using is mine.
It is a 1968 edition that I received for Christmas when I was a young boy from my aunt.
I kept it and a couple of years ago showed it to my son Grant and he just loves it.
He ordered some discs a year or two ago and also uses the discs from the original game.
He sets up standings and statistics and spends hours playing it.

I played the game growing up in Philadelphia.
My first set was in the 1958 season.
It is fun for us to have the current players to use.
Already, some of my friends and their sons are coming over to spend the evening playing All-Star Baseball.
All our sons play together either in High School or our local Little League.
One last thing, Gary Maddox's son just bought the house next to mine.
My son wants to have Gary sign his All-Star disk.
