Welcome!

Hi this is Erin, Clovelle and Kath, and this is our geography project for 2005. In this project we will be focusing on

1) Somers beach; facilities, land forms, tides etc

2) Mangroves; location, habitat, function; and

3) Mangrove coastal care campaign.

Please read this project as we think it will be very helpful in assisting further knowledge of Australia’s diverse coasts.

Somers

Somers beach was named after Lord Somers in 1934, who was the Governor of Victoria at the time. Somers is located 75 kilometres from Melbourne, between Balnarring and HMAS Cerberus. It is a popular spot for many holidayers. There is also a camp, Lord Somers camp.
