Deep Lock Quarry has a rich history. First, on the park site is Ohio and Erie Canal Lock 28, called "Deep Lock" because it has the deepest descent of any of the lcoks along the canal. It was also along the busy Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and had at one time a hobo camp there. The picture is of some of my new friends (Bob, Dave, and Roger) in a hobo interpretation. Also in the picture is Metro Parks Director-Secretary Keith Shy, checking up on us, making sure we're staying out of trouble. Cooking on the fire is Bob's hobo stew. What a treat !
