*ELVES: Are not the nonsensical ceatures usually portrayed in modern stories. Elves are as tall if not taller, then humans, but can change their size at will. They are quite beautiful, with slightly pointed ears and tipped green or brown eyes. Their eyes are not slanted, but tipped, like you find on cats.Their skin is fair, but their hair ranges from white-blonde to black. Elves live in beautiful palaces that they build in the center of ancient groves or in the trees themselves. They are ruled by a king and queen. Elves live up to a thousand years. There are two classifications of elves. Light Elves: who prefer light, airy spaces for their colonies, and Dark Elves: who prefer dark, gloomy places. Elves are connected with the element of Air.
*SELKIES: This type of Otherworld creature lives only around the Faroe Islands, the Orkney Islands and the Shetlands near Scotland. They are not members of the Mer-Folk, but are Seal-Folk instead. They live in underwater cities surrounded by huge air bubbles. They wear their seal-forms only to get from one place to another. Their usual shape and appearance is like that of a humans, but with large, liquid eyes. Selkies are amorous beings and will woo human women into a relationship, although they will not stay with them. Several families in Scotland claim they descend from Selkies. Selkies often come out of the water at night and visit nearby taverns. Although they have an amiable relationship with most humans, Selkies do not like seal hunters. When they encounter such men, they will cal up wild storms and try to sink the boats. Selkies work with the elements of Water and Earth.
*UNDINES: Also called the Water-Folks, Undines, in one form or another, live in every source of non-oceanic water, such as srings, creeks, rivers, lakes, marshes and waterfalls. A small species of Undines can be found near fountains, tiny slow moving creeks and little springs. Undines, like the Mer-Folks have tiny scales all over their bodies and huge, round, fish-like eyes. They have webbed feet and hands. Their stringy hair resembles slimy dead grass. Undines come in a variety of sizes. They speak the human language of their area and can communicate if they wish. All Water-Folk love music and singing. However some species of these Undines are very unreliable and try to tempt humans into the water where they drown. They are Unpredictable and not to be trusted. The Water-Folk who inhabit fountains, little springs and tiny creeks ar quite small. Tiny iridescent scales cover their human-like bodies and sparkle with beautiful rainbow colors in the sunlight. Their children have small tails like tadpoles and can not leave the water until they mature. The adults who resemble miniature humans, have the ability to propel themselves up waterfalls, dance in the water as they go. They do not have wings or fins. Undines of the larger waterfalls are human-sized and very much like their smaler relitives of the fountains. Their Beautiful bodies twist, leap and dance in the water and the spray. Their young also go though a tadpole-like stage. They are very knowledgeable about healing. Another Species of Undines live in fast moving streams and large rivers. Some of these attractive creatures have fishtails, while others do not.
*LEPRECHAUNS - Are sly and tricky and can disappear in the blink of an eye. They are particularly fond of, and active on, Saint Patrick's day, but any day is good for them. Be weary of te leprechauns they are very tricky creatures, and can not be trusted.
*KATTI: are all basically the same - humanoid in form, but with cat-like features. Katti are all covered in fur, their hands still in fact paws, with retractable claws. Katti can move with ease on all fours or on their hind legs, whichever suits them. They are also entirely silent when traveling. Katti are for the most part quite strong, retaining a nautral strength from their ancestors and exceptionally dexterous. The differences between katti are based on their original lineage, which may be cheetah, leopard, panther, jaguar, tiger and lion. Their lineage therefore, impacts their fur color and general size. Katti from the cheetah lineage tend to be smallest, while those of the lion lineage tend to be the largest. Katti have tails, and very often they are a good indication of a katta's mood. Their faces can range in size, and although katti do not have whiskers per se, their eyes and noses are very cat-like, although bigger. Due to the fact that katti now live all over, their styles vary greatly. Many still retain their old, primitive ways, and so keep their dress to a minimum. Others however have been so integrated into other societies that they have taken on the dress and styles of those cultures
