1970 Chevelle SS 396

This is my 1970 Chevelle SS 396 that was in pretty rough condition when I purchased it, but the body was rust free being that is was originally sold new at a Florida dealership. I only paid $1500 for it. It was missing alot of parts at that time, what I got was a solid body on a solid frame, a 396 engine block the crank and a pair of heads. That was it!! It needed a complete restoration. It was Built on November 19, 1969 at the Lakewood Plant in Atlanta, Georgia, I am fortunate enough to document this car with the original build sheet, which was found behind the door panel.

The color as you can see is # 58 Autumn Gold, with # 10 Classic white stripes. I think I have a fairly rare color combo since my interior is # 795 Dark Green. The car came with a few options: deluxe stainless seat belts, air conditioning, and clock. Another option was the D99 two tone paint, which is a white painted steel roof. I wish I had more information on the D99 option because I have not seen any 70 SS Chevelles with the painted roof.If you have one or know of any let me know.

The car has the L-34,396/350hp engine. It has a solid lifter cam. #3964290 oval port heads.Edelbrock Performer intake,Holley 750 vacuum secondary,400 Turbo transmission and a 331 positraction rear end.
