About the 2nd Federal Battalion

What the battalion is all about . . .

The 2nd Federal Battalion (Reinforced) is the culmination of several years of slow work that entailed bringing together a group of leaders who shared the same vision; eliminating the politics of reenacting and bringing battle reenactments to a new level of intensity and excitement both for reenactors and the spectators.
The battalion provides a simple, straightforward approach to organization; each member unit has a vote and a say in the battalion. Personal agendas and politics are not tolerated. Everyone works together and communicates together for the betterment of Civil War reenacting.

Mission Statement

To establish, organize and maintain a professional combined arms force of military and civilian reenactors to promote awareness and education of the American Civil War in the Ohio region.

The Battalion shall through consistent training and communication, strive to conduct at the highest levels of professionalism, realistic yet safe reenactments of Civil War battles for the education and entertainment of the public. This same commitment is extended to the civilian reenactors of the battalion who depict civilian roles and life during the war years.

It is the mission and pledge of all battalion members to hold personal views subservient in order that the commitment to excellence and professionalism may be attained for the betterment of its members, the public, and the memory of the hundreds of thousands of men, women and children who gave their lives during the American Civil War.
