At the stallion performance test Feiner Stern achieved 9.0 4 times for his ability to perform, rideability, trot and gallop in training, and got more than 120 points in the final result. Due to this performance, in combination with a convincing first crop as well as his impressive appearance, he was awarded the title of Main Premium winning stallion in Oldenburg in 1987. He was only 4 years old.
His first batch of foals brought 4 approved sons, among them Feinbrand, the first reserve champion and Fair Play, the 2nd reserve champion of the 1989 stallion approvals in Oldenburg.
He combines the bloodlines of the Oldenburg foundation sire Furioso II with the Hannoverian foundation sire Gotthard. In addition, his granddam Ramona is by the stallion Romulus II, the full brother of Romulus I, sire of the dressage sensation Romadour. The damsire of Feiner Stern, Goldstern, is known in Germany for producing versatile and uncomplicated performance horses.
Feiner Stern is probably the most successful dam sire of the moment (surpassing even Weltmeyer). In one licensing cycle, Feiner Stern was dam sire of the Champion of the Swedish Warmblood testing Figaro R (by Friendship x Feiner Stern), dam sire of the Danish Warmblood Licensing champion Valloes de Baron (De Niro x Feiner Stern), dam sire of the second reserve champion of the 2004 Oldenburg licensing (Donnerhall x Feiner Stern) and dam sire of the top selling, fifth placed stallion (by Depardieu x Feiner Stern), also at the 2004 Oldenburg licensing.
