Quotes and Poems
Three passed their lives doing good works.
The first chose to do good works because of belonging to a religion that promsised everlasting damnation to those who failed to do good.
The second chose to do good works because of belonging to a religion that promised erernal pleasures of paradise after death to those who did good.
The third chose to do good works because of a considered decision that it was the tight thing to do.
Which of the three was indeed good?
DREAMS
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren fiels
Frozen with snow.
PASSING LOVE
Because you are to me a song
I must not sing you over-long.
Because you are to me a prayer
I cannot say you everywhere.
Because you are to me a rose-
You will not stay when summer goes.
UNTITLED
Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn'n rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quite birds circled in flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there I did not die.
