I don't think I could ever fully capture with words, or pictures even, my wonderful trip to Turkey. I'm still not even sure how it all even happened . It almost seems like a dream to me. When Murat and I became pen pals, I never thought it would someday lead to us meeting. Many people thought I was crazy to even think of going so far from home ! Turkey was so far away, a different world, language and culture from what I knew, they said. These were exactly the reasons I felt most compelled to go. Life should be a constant journey. It is meant to be lived. I discovered many things on this trip, not just about a wonderful new place, but a wonderful man. I even learned new things about myself. One thing for sure I learned was that I am horrible at taking photo's :) A whole roll did not turn out, which were of some of the most spectacular views I've ever seen in my life !!!! There is no way any film could capture the tourquoise of the sea's of Turkey, the green of the mountains of the black sea area, the rhythm of the language, the friendliness of all the people who helped us when we had trouble, nor can it capture all the songs, laughter, jokes, and hope Murat and I share together. What follows are the pictures that did turn out, my view on the events that happened... umm, of course I realize Murat's view might be different, especially on the backgammon bet..if he wants to refute any of this, he can do his own web page :) To those who helped us..Munerva, Nuri, and his brother, for the apartment, the support, and the phone. Paula for the ride to cincinnati. Thank you for realizing that possible love should know no borderlines.
