 Blessed Mercy

Luke  6:7

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

The Religious always look to find fault but they never see theirs. They hold to their traditions instead of being led by Jesus. Sadly they have no relationship. The actions of Jesus exceeded the religious understanding/blindness of the Doctors, Lawyers and the sanctimonious. Jesus healed on the Sabbath; he set people free from their Bondage, giving them rest on the day of rest and freedom. He did things contrary to general trend of religious instruction of the law. Yet all he did fulfilled the law.

When Jesus was transformed before Peter, James and John they saw that Jesus spoke with Moses and Elijah showing that the Law and the Prophets point to and are fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Peter said hey Lord maybe Me, James and John should build altars to all three of you, Uh Ohh! Now a cloud overshadows them and a voice speaks saying, "This is my beloved Son HEAR HIM". What Jesus teaches is above the Law and the Prophets. The proper understanding of the Law and Prophets will cause you to run to Jesus for his mercy.

The religious have all the "Do Nots" They are forever fasting, going without this and that; never enjoying anything. Miserable and empty and if they bring you into the same bondage then they think, as the Pharisees did that they have done God a service.

Luke  6:39

And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

God wants us to cover the naked and overlook the fault. You can’t cover the naked when you are constantly exposing and reminding them of their sin. Let me ask you, who wants to hang around with people who are always looking at people’s faults? It is a miserable way to live. These need to remember who has redeemed them and who has justified the ungodly. All of us without Jesus are the ungodly. Folks there are too many out there who choose to avoid anything good in life thinking that any kind of pleasure means they must be sinning. To those I say relax. Jesus said I am come that you might have life and have it how? The Lord all mighty said more abundantly.

Isaiah  58:4

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Isaiah  58:5

Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

Do you hear what the Lord Jesus Christ is saying here? Strife and debate, now doesn’t that sound like the churches today? You know in God’s eyes finding fault and looking at others sins to condemnation is smiting with a fist of wickedness. It is iniquity. Afflicting your soul, never enjoying anything, will you call this an acceptable day? God never told you to do that. When Jesus said, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me, he meant when came to choice, where in order for you to enjoy or participate would require you to deny the Lord well then the obvious thing to do is to deny yourself. But that doesn’t mean you have to drive a rust-bucket in order to be holy; thinking that anything better than that is being worldly.

Proverbs  10:22

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

It is not a sin to have good things in this life and it’s not a sin to be wealthy either. Did you know that Abraham had a servant? Got to be wealthy to have a servant. And don't expect the so-called brethren to rejoice over when you are blessed ...so be ready:

Mark  10:30

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

God wants you blessed in the here and now. Whether it is the healing of your body, your mind or your wallet. So believe him for it.

Isaiah  58:6

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Isaiah  58:7

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Jesus is merciful and tells us to show mercy because its his nature. If you are born of God you know that the only way your making it to heaven is through Jesus and not because you are so holy. When once your eyes are opened you know that mercy is right. Forgiveness is just. You are forgiven of a great debt, forgive those who trespass and violate you. Not because you are trying to earn anything rather simply because it is right. Mercy defies intellect and the world calls this behavior foolish. There is a way that seems right to a man whose end is death. As the heavens are above the earth so the ways of Jesus are above the ways of man. Now this doesn’t mean that you should keep letting the same people violate you, there comes a time when you have to say no.

There is a blessing for those who choose Mercy:

Isaiah  58:8

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

Isaiah  58:9

Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

Isaiah  58:10

And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

Isaiah  58:11

And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

How many want to hear from God today? Did you know that you could? How many want to be taught directly by Jesus today? Did you know that this has always been God’s way? When you are merciful and forgiving; looking to cover the naked and deal your spiritual bread to the hungry, you are going to hear God’s voice. Do you want your physical, spiritual and financial Bones to be fat? Be merciful, don’t condemn. Look past the faults and sin. You don’t know what tomorrow might bring into that persons life, maybe Jesus sets them free tomorrow and Jesus remembers the mercy you showed them.

Just think of the woman who washed Jesus’ feet with her tears, he knew her sin but didn’t condemn her and her sins were many.

John  14:23

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Mans way is to choose vengefulness. He has not the right to bring judgment. Only Jesus has that right and although he will in fact soon tread the winepress of Almighty God, until that time arrives he chooses mercy. And those Born of God, lift up Jesus and choose the same.

Here the Voice of the Lamb today. Jesus is soon to return. Amen.
